More Red Swings

UT just installed a 40x25 bank of 300W solar panels, 300,000W during full sun, or approximately 1800kWh per day... about $216 worth of energy per day if you go with coal.  Total cost was $1,500,000, or around 19 years to pay back.  The city of Austin will refund a large portion of the cost, but all things considered I'm still a believer that pn solar cells aren't the way to go for large scale generation.  I do believe in harnessing the sun, but via focusing techniques... also support wind... but solar is a bit expensive for now.  There are some amazing companies bringing the environmental and $$$ costs down, so in the very near future I'll be on board.

The garage

Various leftovers of new chains I've used over the years... I'm saving them to eventually build one for free (I think I'll need 13 or so more... another 10 years)

Lock your shit up.  Fortunately, Texas has a Lethal Force to Defend Property clause... that I hope to never have to use, but since I know the pain of bike theft, I'd ask questions later.  Is human life worth more than a bicycle?  Not if you're a bike thief.

Didn't realize you could get to this hill.

I previously mentioned redswingproject.org.  I didn't mention I'm a contributor.  My old climbing ropes is getting put to good use.

That stencil was a bitch to cut out.

4:30AM-7:30AM walk around Austin... with a 40 pound pack.  Wonderful to see it wake up.

Here We Go Magic's new album is out this week.  Here's my favorite track from their last record.
